Bad News is my car is Broken. No ABS, no traction control, and no AWD. Also as a result I’d not having traction control, no cruise control.
Good News:
My car is RWD, has no traction control, and crappy set of tires that I do not care about.
I might not fix it right away. Like I might wait until October.

Did it go into limp mode?

When everything shits the bed, it’s usually just a fuse.

When everything shits the bed, it’s usually just a fuse. BMW.
Sorry, had to. Your X1 has been pretty reliable, right? They are getting more and more tempting to me when it’s time to replace the Outback.

I laughed

I figured. But I’ve heard when you pull the stability control fuse you also have the wipers on constantly, so wouldn’t that happen with a blown cue as well?
I’m going to order a scan tool today. I had been putting it off but this seems like a good time lol

My X1 has been pretty good for 100k or so miles. Still deciding if I’m going to keep it and see how long she’ll last.
Never get rid of a Subaru for a BMW. Pisses off the Subie gods and they’ll curse your bimmer. Traded in a Forester XT on a 335d once and the BMW ended up being a nightmare to keep on the road. Guess that’s why they were both worth the same after two years despite the BMW initially having double the retail value of the Subaru.

Yeah that doesn’t sound like the worst thing in the world, when you put it like that haha.
But hey! Me too! Mine is likely a wheel speed sensor.

Got rid of a Subaru for an Audi - I wonder when they’ll smite me?

Don’t taunt them

If was a VW and it lights up like that it’s most likely the abs module. Not a fun repair but there are some places online that rebuild them so you don’t have to pay dealership prices....used to happen to our Tdi when taking corners a bit hard.

My bet is wheel speed sensor, I believe rear passenger is responsible for cruise control at least on the RWD ones.

In my car it’s usually the front passenger who thinks she’s the cruise control. It’s rare that she sits in the back, but when she does, you are correct.

Pobably the transfer case actuator motor. You can replace the whole thing or if you prefer to go cheap there’s a replacement worm gear kit on eBay. Just make sure you get the one intended for cars and not the X5.

It would infuriate me that a vehicle that is very much not a 4x4 and is very much AWD uses a 4x4 light to notify you that the AWD isn’t working.

That smells a little like a sensor failure, because of all those systems’ reliance on accurate data about... everything.
When all three of those lights come on for an (older) X3, it’s commonly related to a little piece of the transfer case that is a known weakness... I dread “The Trifecta” on my wife’s car but so far so good. Probably best that I don’t drive it the way I drive my car, namely, sideways.

Nope not at all. Even did some drifting this morning. Well my sad attempt at it anyway
I had read one about 328xi owner who drove for 2 years like this with no problems.

That’s kind of wild.

With that collection of problems, my money would be on a wheel speed sensor.
